To healthcare workers everywhere,
Happy National Nurses Month!
I’ve spent some time reflecting on how fortunate we are at Next Move to work with such kind, compassionate, and talented clinicians. I’m so grateful to those healthcare workers who have put their trust in our team to help you navigate this challenging yet rewarding career. I am also grateful to healthcare workers everywhere who have dedicated their careers to helping, serving, and caring for others.
On a Personal Note:
A few months ago, my grandad was diagnosed with a very advanced and inoperable glioblastoma and given a prognosis of two weeks to live. The regret, anger, and sadness felt by my family was immense. Yet, in the midst of our grief was gratitude – not only for the time we got to spend with him, but for the profound impact made by the nurses and aids caring for him in his final days. Small things, things we couldn’t have asked for, like being on time, practicing patience and empathy, and joking with my grandad gave us comfort. It made us smile.
While most equate nursing to the ‘traditional responsibilities’ like passing meds, charting, and placing orders, it was really the unwavering compassion and commitment from the nursing team that was felt by my family. As someone who is not a nurse, I can only imagine how frustrating and challenging it must be to do your job AND go above and beyond to make a lasting impression. It wasn’t lost on me or my family, and I know it isn’t lost on your patients or their families either.
Our goal at Next Move has always been to provide the best career experience possible for our clinicians, so they can provide the best possible care for their patients. Losing my grandfather has only reaffirmed how important healthcare workers are, and just how fortunate we are to have some of the very best on our team. It is an honor to be able to serve you, and invest in the impact you are making in so many lives.
I want to take this opportunity to personally and sincerely thank healthcare workers everywhere: for the care you’ve provided and continue to provide, for deciding to change lives for the better, and for the profound impact you have undoubtedly had on countless patients and families.
To those who have entrusted Next Move with your careers: I hope you always feel heard, supported, and advocated for by our team – we’re your biggest cheerleaders.
In your service,
John Nolan, CEO
