Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department through analyzing, recording, tracking, and auditing financial information.  The Accounting Manager will provide direct leadership to accounting department team.

The position will play a critical role in assisting with the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and internal controls. This position will play a critical role in developing and building out the accounting team here at Next Move Healthcare.  This position will require someone with the ability to manage the day-to-day processes as they work directly with the Controller to hire, train and mentor the accounting team.

Key Deliverables

  • Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team; provide management support and guidance to direct reports on deliverables and accounting strategies.
  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department which includes:
    • Month and end-year process
    • Accounts payable/receivable
    • Collections
    • General ledger review
    • Reconciliations for accounts
  • Process weekly payable runs (payment by check, credit card and ACH)
  • Process end of year 1099s
  • Monitor & analyze accounting data to assist in producing financial reports
  • Enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Meet financial accounting objectives
    • Balance Sheet Tie Out
    • Review Fixed Assets
    • Accruals
  • Assist with gathering data for external audits
  • Ensures annual registrations are filed timely and accurately with all states
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring staff for accounting department
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Success Factors

  • Meeting month-end deadlines
  • Accurate preparation of initial month-end close for Controller review
  • Management of accounts payable and receivable for timely payments and collection
  • Consistent backup for all transactions

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years’ experience in accounting
  • Experience with supervising an accounting staff
  • Knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles
  • Previous experience with Sage Intaact preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
